Default My '65 LeMans

Bought this in 1986 and after raising 2 kids, I'm finally making some progress on it again. Still not finished, but here's a photo album of the chassis that's almost finished.....

I uploaded the pictures from start to finish, so they are listed in the wrong order and no way to re-order them that I can find. Start at the last picture and work backwards.

Default 64 GOAT project

Pulled this project out of my Dad's garage last summer (it has not run in over 20 years) and we are working on it together. I have learned a ton, I am hoping to turn a key in Spring of 2019.

Default Nice

It's always great to see another Goat saved. Enjoy the restoration and good luck. Good looking car too.

My best advice, never give up, it took me 6 1/2 years to restore mine. Lots of setbacks and the idea of what the finished car would be changed numerous times during the restoration, but it was all worth it. My wife still calls it the money pit.

Thank you, it is a great way to spend time with my Dad and would love to have him driving it again.

Yep the line item on the budget keeps increasing...luckily my husband is just as interested in getting the car going too...….Hoping to turn the key next year but we will see...….

It looks like it will be an awesome project! Not that I'm partial to '64's or anything. Lol. It looks fairly rust free. Any back story on it? Original owners? Etc.

I know my dad bought it in California, San Jose, in 1978 for $350.00. Driven until the late 1980's when my brother started the upgrade from Lemans to GTO with a 455, but the project has been on hold since then. We have all the badging and hood for the 1964 GTO. Hopefully it will all come together within the next year....I am on a steep learning curve.

I can't believe it's been over 11 years since I started this post with my 65 Lemans. It's amazing how fast time goes by. Anyways, I brought this little beauty home on November 4th (my birthday actually) last fall, and put it in the garage where it has sat since, waiting for Spring. The car is originally from Virginia, and it really shows. No rust and from what I can see, it's never had any panels replaced. It's just a real nice car.
The drivetrain however, has been replaced. Originally a 6 cylinder, it now has a good, strong running 72 354 (I refuse to say 350, people always think Chevy) turbo 350 trans and a 3:31 12 bolt posi. The car seems to have been put together with quite a lot of attention to detail. Really hope the weather breaks soon around here, I want to drive it!

Default My 65 is done

I like original looking cars. But for some reason on my 65 Tempest my curiosity go the best of me and one thing led to another.

Wow 75ta4sp! Very nice ‘64. It is a Tempest, right? Any mor pix? Cool car. Of course, I am partial to ‘64 Tempest post cars.

Thank you! Yes, it is a Tempest. This is the only other pic I have on my computer right now. I took it at the previous owners place the day I bought it. Like I said, I'm ready for Spring!
