Hey Ken,
This car your talking about is it a auto with black custom interior, and a/c ?

Boss: The rods where forged at a GM spec and should be the same either year.

Gary H, you lucky guy you! Ken will eventually respond. I had PM'd him to see if I was the lucky guy, and it took a few days for him to respond. That's great documentation to have.

Now, if anyone has the original window sticker for the 'Car Palace' SD car, originally sold into Lamar CO, please step forward, ha!
Greg.

Does anyone have some good pictures of the emissions control system on a '74 SD? I have this one vaccum hose that has what looks like a one-way valve on it that routes behind the carb. Anyone know where it comes from/goes to? This is an AT & AC car. Thanks!

That sounds like the vacuum delay valve. It should connect to your vacuum advance if that's the case.

SD73, thanks. Can you tell me what's the termination of the other end, and which way does the restriction of the valve "run"? thanks.....

The other end of that vacuum line feeds to the powered vacuum solenoid that attaches next to the accelerator cable bracket.

The restriction on that valve should be facing the vacuum advance. Basically, it lets vacuum draw on the vacuum advance and only slowly releases the vacuum. Incidently, as far as I've been able to determine, SD cars did not have these.

Oh no Mr. Bill! Then I wonder why it's laying around in there? Okay, so does anyone have a correct diagram or can just write out in words how all the vacuum lines on a '74 Sd AT car should run? MUCHO gracias!

As long as I'm wishing, does anyone have one of those seat belt interlock relays that mount on the driver's inner fender (looks like it's mounted onto a pink, plastic pedestal bracket). I need a working relay and the bracket. And probably the front wiring harness, too, since someone snipped the three wires running to it.

I think they're the same for ALL '74 Pontiac models????

Thanks!

Maybe your's had it??? I haven't seen a part number for one of those fitting a SD in my parts book. Std. V8 definately had those though.

Let's see if any other SD owners have them too.
