Earliest 400 block 9799914 that was used in 69 application I’ve found was F04-9 . Also noted was upper engine boss ground off on all these 9799914 blocks that were used in 69 cars .

Agreed. I had a SR 9792506 74 dated fitted block years ago that had the upper mount bosses cut off.

Interesting that my 9792506 block dated B222 has the driver side upper boss ground off, but not the passenger side...was that common?

Dennis, now that you mentioned it. I think mine only had one side cut off as well.
Has been about 30 years since I let go of it.

Dennis, Yes, Ive seen many with one one side cut off. Im not entirely sure but....Isn't it only the driver side that was cut off? Have a 71 service block (bought directly from George Delorean many many years ago at Jims Shop. I could get a photo of that and post if somebody doesn't beat me to it.

Ross, Yes, drivers side boss milled off...but I don't know if all SR 9792506 blocks were that way. Maybe for the driver side long branch exhaust manifold clearance since it dumps directly below the center exhaust ports?

Aside from the customizing. The car appears to be pretty original. Lifelong CA car that was sold new in Los Gatos CA.

Also, as a real odd ball, I have a 1970 block WQ, with a June 14, 69 build date no S/N and motor mount bosses set up same as the 1969. Not sure with the 1969 year being elongated that the ‘70 blocks were already being forged so they got used?? Odd things happened I guess..
….sorry, date was actually June, 25 1969.

Dennis / All,
Here are the pictures of the #2506 George Delorean Block.
I am almost certain that ALL SR blocks had only the one boss ground off.

Ross, That seems certainly to be the case based on the photo evidence presented so far...
