it would be nice if the seller had a VIN listed or a photo of the data plate to help give a clue on the build date.

I thought that all 70 T/A's only came with the RAIII or the RAIV ONLY as that was the only engine available in 70.????? YES ?????? No 455's until the change over for the 71 with the only engine being the 455 HO. For shaker I don't know about that one, I've never seen one with the turned up lip on the edge of the shaker .

Please guys.. The seller did not say number matching, he just said a real TA.That is a real TA with a NOM 455 with a stupid later shaker or something. There are no "super secrete" pre production TA's floating around.455's were not until 1971,and that scoop is not a 70 model, quite clear. He was clear that it was a real TA, but never mentions numbers matching. I think you guys have read a little much into his short auction description.

The left front of that shaker looks to good to be a repair or "cobble job"........I wonder?

He's added to the listing:

The original 400 ci was removed, and we installed a 455, with alumina heads, intake.
Looks nice.

Looks like a regular shaker that they trimmed the outer rubber seal flange, off of.

The whole portion that has the drain hole is missing. That's got to make a mess just washing the car.

going thru some stuff today and found some old magazine features for 1970 showing that "one off " shaker on some test vehicles. also looked in the dealer product albums for 1970,71 & 72, they all show the same photo but obviously the 455 H.O. was added for the 71/72 cars....clearly the album photos are of a 1970, a Ram Air IV with A/C no less, (not available on the LS 1)... makes you wonder if any of those odd ball shakers ever really did get out the door.....

Wink

The engine in the photos looks to be of 69 RAIII vintage. You can see the 48 cast on the center runner of the RH head.

RAIV did have a dual snorkel air cleaner.

....BOSSBIRD, anyway to post the full articles or list the mags and dates?...the old articles and back in the day photos are the best..I definately have not seen some of these photos ever..the shaker removed and the stripe is very cool...that 455 H.O., is that airbrushed??...what article?brochure is that?..thanks for posting and any more photos or info is appreciated...regarding the original post I contacted the owner some time ago(car was sold) and he could not give any specific info if the shaker was a one-of...but it certainly did look like the brochure photos and missing the seal, which makes sense...
