Default Coil Placement

In I'm in the process of installing an Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 system and I am looking to place/install the coil. There aren't any spots on the back of the intake for the bracket to bolt to, however, it bolts to the back of the head nicely. Would this be an issue for heat soak?

That’s perfectly fine to mount it there.

Believe some Pontiacs came from the factory with the coil mounted that way.

...but I'd absolutely move the fuel pressure regulator so it's not directly in line with the flywheel/flexplate. Then put the hoses inside the frame rail so they're somewhat protected from an explosion.

I use the PF4 also and placed my coil there. why did you not use the rail mounted vacuum reference regulator designed for the pf4?

This was the regulator suggested and provided by my fuel tank provider, Tanks Inc.

My 1964 A-body V8 cars all came from the factory with the ignition coil mounted to the back of the passenger side cylinder head.
