Are you unable to find a stock pump?

I haven't really tried, but I just put a rebuilt one on 6 months ago, and just briefly checking it out, it looks like it may have failed. I have a rust in the gas tank problem, which will be next spring's project as the weather here in NJ has turned cold.

I may go "electric" because I hate to crank the whole engine just to prime up the carb.

I also have a rusty tank. This is what I did.
1. I put a filter inbetween the tank and the pump. (get a clear one)
2. I always have a spair pump incase of failure.
3. I always check the filter for rust.
4. If you continue to get rust. Have the tank Rotted out by a good shop and lined.
The still run the filter between the tank and pump.
If you go to a Carter or Holley Street pump.
Still use a filter between the pump and tank.
The rust will Quickly destroy it also.
