Default OBX Headers installed on 64 Tempest

Sold my OBX headers to a friend that was in a bind and needed some. Sent for another set for my car. Anyway, got them installed on his '64 Tempest. The drivers side went right in with no problems. Had a little trouble with the passenger side. It was a little tight on the passenger side, but a little more pre-planning would have helped. I would recommend installing the passenger side first. Keep the motor mount bolt out and raise the motor a little on that side and it should slide right up there. Once they are in they fit really nice. Don't hit anywhere. Here's some pics. The motor is a 455 that he bought off 10second70GP.

How do you think they would fit with a Z bar for a stick?

GV OD on the tranny?

x3 on the z bar & how is oil filter access? I see the filter housing is not on the motor yet.

Skip,
Not sure on the z-bar, will have to take a look at it. Yes, that's a GV OD.
He's going to put an angled oil filter housing on it and it looks like there's plenty of room there. A remote mount could be an option.

My 65 GTO project will be getting round ports either my RAIVs or some E heads. It is a stick I'd like to keep, but I guess I could always modify a tube or two so I ordered a set.

I have a set of the IA freaking 24 piece early GTO round port headers that look like the are a leak waiting to happen for all the individual tubes.

Skip Fix,

Just wondering if you got your OBX headers and what you think of them?

Got them Friday. Man they are flat! I was surprised how flat the box was. They look like good quality polished like they are coated. Held them up to a block and looks like good oil filter clearance, not sure the Z bar though. That rear tube may need massaging for a stick.
Also wish the reducers were 3.5-3".

My project is way off from being together. Still not sure that rear tube may need cutting and moving some.

Blank1, is the pass side brake line routed in front of the crossmember?
Ebay ad says 3/8" flanges and 1/2" flanges. Which one are they?
Collector reducers 3" or 2.5
Thanks, OGR

Doug headers don't interchange, so these shouldn't either.

Bought a set for my 67 GTO....collectors= 3.5" reducers = 2.5" all flanges=3/8"...very nicely built, cant vouch for install as I have a custom chassis, IAII block, and E-heads. basically for $289, I rolled the dice.....Eric

Just got my set today. I already own 2 sets of Doug's headers at $650 each. They look almost identical. just shinier. It will be several months before I install them on my 70 racecar. We'll see.
