I was comparing to Diesel, apples and oranges of course.

8.1 is way ahead of any other gas engine, esp anything with a carb.

I'd be real careful towing 11000 lbs with a single (ie not dually) rear. Better have 10 ply tires!!!

Though we're focusing on engines, whatever you get, go with 3/4 ton chassis or better. I think the point was made earlier, but there is a much higher safety factor with the big chassis, in brakes, shocks and springs.

If you carry any weight 10 ply tires are important as well. Load range E, not load range C. And check all the pressures.

TS tires on the trailer, not P tires!!! TS rims too, not mobile home stuff. Had a tire go down on an enclosed trailer, probably due to underinflation, couldn't find a puncture. (Although it was on the way to Norwalk along I 80 in western PA....Need i say more?) Likely a slow leak, trashed the tire on the inside. Fortunately stopped before it blew out.

Also remember weight distributing hitch. Never got much out of anti sway control added to weight dist hitch, don't run it myself. Correct loading of trailer is important too, having enough tongue weight and hitch ball height.

What did I miss?

Oh please, don't. My poor little Hendrickson wouldn't stand a chance with its tiny 6-71 and it's 13 speed Roadranger transmission fighting against your mighty small block 3/4 ton gasser.

After going to a dualie set up I wouldn't have it any other way. The stability difference is night & day.

That's a fact. You cannot modify a 6.0 to the power level that a 5.9 Cummins can make. Show me where people are building 6.0s to make 1,200 horsepower. You don't see 6.0 Chebbys used as hot-shoters lasting 700K either. How many 6.0s do you see installed in medium duty trucks ?

It's "no" not "know"

The average Joe is not modify anything ?

Perhaps you shouldn't made such ridiculous statements and then namecall people in a derogative manner (i.e "hee-haw") when you can't handle basic elementary grammar yourself.

Polar, I wouldn't normally bother with your grammar. But, you wanted to call me a backwoods hick, yet you couldn't basic grammar that my eleven year old knows.
I guess you're not smart enough to see the irony ?
Sounds like you're the perfect audience laugh at canidate for the Jeff Foxworthey show "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?"

If you want to know the truth, I thought I was helping, trying to speak to you on your own level.

Quote..yet you couldn't basic grammar .....what the f3ck are you trying to say Mr. Grammer, that is not a proper sentence.

Quote.. you're the perfect audience laugh at canidate... Here we go again Cletus.

Maybe you should get your 11 yr old to help you out.

Why, if you are having issues with Brad, would you start insulting me?

I was hoping we were having a jovial "my truck is faster than yours" conversation, guess not.

Have a nice day.

Cool trucks

i have a 94 crew cab fors 1 ton single rear wheel. pulls fine. stops great. only has a 5.8 gas motor. open trailer hauling a car gets 9 mpg. 24 enclosed loaded only got 6 mpg. thirsty for sure either way. the longer the truck the better it rides. i swear by fords! power stroke would be best but more money all the way around. pontiacmonstr
