I'm not trying to bust your bubble on it - in fact I'd like to think I had something to do with getting the idea started.

There just wasn't a picture on your last post, so I was breaking your balls.

Wow!..its great that you guys have the resources to save these mythical pontiac pieces!..greg that is going to be over the top!...please post pics asap...what heads are you going to use?...how about some build info or did I miss that in another post?

Tom S, what do you have that engine in?...I recently found an old HPP magazine with your 303 RA V powered 69 Trans Am featured in it...I had never seen that issue before, only read bits about it here on PY...amazing all the work that went into that build to have an operational 303 short deck street car...enjoyed reading both articles.

I have only seen that on the Butler/All pontiac block, not OEM blocks.

that short block is now built as a RA V engine in my 69 royal bobcat clone GTO.It has been in my 69 trans am as a RA V,my 63 lemans as a all alu engine with KRE D ports. It is a 446 CI engine,4.120 by 4.125.Carillo rods and Ross pistons.I also have a 366 303 based engine in a 69 firebird that is going to the header shop fri.Tom

tom, greg...someday I hope I can see those in person!...but for tonite, I know what I will be dreaming of...RAV blocks...intakes...heads..lol

Tom....you HAVE to post some pics of that Firebird...this is legendary stuff that you must share with us!

Is the aluminum block capable of withstanding up to the same forces an Iron block can take?...greg, any special work to the block to handle that stroke and compression?

I dont have any of the deep pulleys except for a aftermarket alt pulley from a HP chevy. You can search posts I started and see the short deck engine in the bird, also the deep alt pulley.I just have not put one on the GTO yet.I was told theses blocks should not be pushed on the HP level.I have kept mine to the 500ish number.Gregs was a raw block that I hope is better than mine was.Tom
