There was a thread here a bunch of years ago that started out just like this. The seller had a long history of selling parts and not making good on shipping. I think they even made a nickname for him.

He was selling parts and trying to be the middle man for cars. I dont remember his name or the buyers name since its been years. The seller nor the buyer posts here anymore.

I think posting his name is enough. Its apparent that he is a thief and thats it. The experience the OP had has been thoroughly explained. We all know not to buy from this guy. And while it may be fun to beat the crap out of him verbily via the web, IMO that anything else should be handled between the seller and the buyer.

An idea to PY - A ton of parts and cars sell via this website every day. Its my first source of looking to see if I can find a part. There should be some sort of a rating systems. If I went to eBay and the seller didn't have a history of doing business there, at least I can make an educated decision if want to do business with them. I know Ive seen ratings before on other boards. Just a note for the suggestion box.

I don't think there will be any communication between myself and this guy, he's pretty much ducked every message I've sent him for a full week. As a matter of fact I'm surprised he ever emailed me back with that story twice last weekend. He's probably just busy testing it for me and cleaning it and trying to find a really nice box and packing for it.

Was this a starter with a certain date code/part number you needed for a resto or just a regular starter?

It was an IMI mini starter. I am using headers so I need to go with a mini. The pictures he posted on the other thread show a very clean nice starter. He said he bought it, then bought I guess a racing oil pan so it doesnt fit right so he would sell it. He said he got it from another PY member who hardly used it and he never even installed it himself.

A word to the wise, don't assist anyone trying to game PayPal by claiming a payment is a gift. That person has then effectively removed your complaint option with PP because you've gone along with their scamming them.

Also, when they're willing to do that for a couple of bucks, they've already established their willingness to cheat and how cheaply they'll do it. Why then should you trust them to treat you any differently?

Go into your Pp account and get the transaction details.
Then get all his contact info.
Name - address - email - phone number

Then post all of that info here

And see if he has a facebook account - and post to it

DO contact Pp - they might do something regardless.
Even if just expelling his account and banning his name.

Start sending him invoices through Pp for the amount due ... etc
We'll come up with more stuff too.

Well I got an email this morning stating he had a family emergency, and he wants to work it out. We will see and I will update.

That's basically what I told him. I get the family emergency thing but a quick message saying family emergency, I'll catch up with you next week is all I need. I told him I need the starter but if I'm going to get jerked for another week just send me my money back. He is still out there and responded finally so we will see.

Not that it makes any difference but that kid had some legit medical issues according to his Mother.....remember his Mom (iirc) came on PY and tried to get him out of the mess he created and get people to back off him?

He got in over his head, trying to get parts dropped shipped from sellers to "his" buyer and then it got so bad he was trying to pay the seller once he got paid. Didn't he himself get taken by seller early on, and then couldn't pay for the parts for next deal...I seem to recall that was the case, or so he said.

House of cards, that came down fast.

Then there are a rip offs that still participate as members, only because people burned don't like to "rock the boat" and "out" them.

One guy has stuck two people I know of (personally talked with one man a PY member a few times) and one is very well known in the hobby. This was for some "serious" money, and I mean serious money or some rare cars they paid for but never got...back in the high dollar days .

VIN swapping too, he got busted a long time ago by another member, but you had to read between the lines to follow what was happening....honest people always try and be "nice".

When there is no one that will post a complaint or post what happened, (guess its embarrassing due to amount of money involved or whatever reason)...he just comes on whenever he wants and always "selling something" and he's treated like he's a "good PY member".

I cringe when he comes on and starts his typical MO sales pitch, not often but when he does you know someone is in danger of losing money.

Hes got multiple ebay accounts that's been documented, few other things.......have to be careful with anyone these days....if you don't know them personally, you never know how close they are to leaving town with your money....look at the rip offs at Yellow Bull.ett since hobby spending got tight....guys closing the doors or in a bind will pull a big rip off for the cash. That sites is full of stories....$$$ race cars being sold multiple times, parts, work....

.

Well here's an update. Monday morning I got the email with what's been going on which I posted already. Didn't hear back again until yesterday at 12:00pm after I sent him a what's the deal email on Tuesday night. He said sorry again and his shipping company shipped it who he's never had a problem with before and the guy was going to text or email the tracking info to his fiancé and then she would send it to him and he would send it to me asap. I then responded, when was it shipped as I hadn't been to PO Box since Friday? No response, went to box today and surprisingly to me,no starter. Sent him an email stating basically how exhausting this is getting and just send me my money back so I can just go buy a new one, it's almost 3 weeks now and it is holding me up. Oh yeah he also has a lot of his motor, maybe the whole thing to sell if I'm interested although he realizes I may not be too eager to deal with him. Really?? Wow!!

I dont think this was the same guy. After things quieted down he started posting here again and it was like everyone forgot what a mess was created. I think the last post I saw from him was that he was sick or he was kicked out of his wifes house or something like that. I know he had kids. But it wasn't as extreme as what you described. I didn't see that one.

I already put his name out there over the weekend,WAMjr10950. He originally told me he would have it in a USPS Priority Box tomorrow which would have been Feb. 25th. if I did Paypal. It's just so exhausting to not get responses day after day like this.

It appears your guy has multiple PY accounts.... 32137 is the zip code for Palm Coast Florida. I found all this info just doing a cursory search on Google.

Great work John, I went to one of his threads under the ID on PY with the 64GTO and the very first one was him screwing a bunch of guys and as a matter of fact I remember this from when it was going on and it was the same BS he has been feeding me. My issues should not affect you and how sorry he is. I appreciate your investigation John. Same old story with this guy.
