The problem as I have found if from OLD muncies shifters! When go go for 3rd from 2nd you need to just go straight but the tendency is to push too hard toward 3rd and you sometimes hit the "taint"!Taint 3rd and taint 5th.I have thought many times about trying to come up with a 5th-rev lock out.Tom

Yup. Once I "trained" myself to calmly go for 3rd I haven't had a problem going straight up from 2nd.

Popping out of gear is a whole separate issue, that I've never had.

The unloaded gate is the 3-4 gate. Just push forward and it will naturally go into the 3-4 gate. I learned this while testing Vipers at work. You almost don't want to think side ways....just forward.

Over a certain rpm and power the tko is impossible to get into 3 with out granny shifting. The carbon fiber syncro and brass shift tabs will help. Just sold my tko 600 due to this. Went a different route for now. The tranny was awesome when I only had 450 h.p. and was shifting at 5500 rpm.
