65 Tempest dipstick
My son has a 65 Tempest Custom with its original 326 2 barrel, and the oil dipstick is missing. The car does not have air conditioning, but it has a longer dipstick tube similar to an A/C car. Can anyone tell me if it would use the same dipstick as an A/C car? I'm confused because my 66 GTO with no air has a much shorter dipstick tube and dipstick. Every other Pontiac I've owned without air had the same short dipstick and tube (they've all been 66 or later).
Thanks, Importsmasher

Here is a picture of my stock 65 Lemans 326-2bbl.
The stick does sit up pretty high! I hope this helps, James Q |

That looks correct. Same dipstick as the 389 non air. I think it is repoped.

James, that is exactly what my son's car looks like (minus the dipstick of course).
Jerry, I'll look at Ames and see if they have it. Do you know if it's the same as the later A/C cars? Importsmasher
