Default 65 vent control cable

I replaced my vent control cables a few years ago but it didn’t work out so well. They came with a plastic clip that doesn’t prevent the outer sheath from moving when you control the cable.

I’m trying to figure out the best way to retain the cables. There are a couple of threaded holes in the sheet metal where the cable is routed, and there is also a round hole that the cable goes through right before it connects to the flap.

The only product I see on Ames site is in the attached pic. I’m not sure how it works?

I also thought about a cable clamp like the metal style they have on a Holley manual choke to retain the choke cable.

Is there something that is supposed to go in the round hole that the cable runs through?

Thanks for any help. I gotta stop cobbling stuff together and do things right the first time!

I would assume a screw would go through the circular area and the cable would go underneath the lip on the bottom. That would be similar to how a factory cable was mounted.
