Default 1969 tach install in place of the clock/block off plate?

has anyone converted an in dash nova or other type small in dash tach to be used in the hole in the dash for the clock?
I do not think i want a hood tach for this car, and if i cant come up with an in dash solution, i may just do a dixco clone sun tach. big daddy style

Mine came with a blank plate, I sense installed a clock years ago. Now I'm going to cut a 2" hole in the blank plate and put the shift light in it so nothing is hanging out to see. I have the Holley sniper panel for all the other functions.
