Default Source for 63 PS high pressure hose?

Does anyone have a source for a 1963 389 PS high pressure hose, ready to bolt on? The car is a wagon, but I don't think it matters.
I took mine to a local hydraulic shop and it came back 8" too long with 2 added connections......At least I still have both original end fittings. The new hose installs, but looks very messy.

Thanks in advance,
James Q

Well, why not take it back and ask them to remake it but this time to the correct length as per your sample? That seems the logical way to go. Nothing hard about making one.

That's my plan for tomorrow, but they used my original fittings, so the old hose is probably no longer around. My level of trust in their ability is also not very high!

Thanks,

Well lets give them the benefit of the doubt and just say they made an error. Tell them they made it 8" too long, you assumed they had it right when you picked it up so you only realised the error when you went to fit it up.

I'm assuming you paid them to do the job so in that case, why are you keen to give more money to someone else when its their error.

Thanks Ian,
I hadn't planned on paying them to remake it,

Hirsch,s hose does not have the crimped fitting in the middle of the hose that holds the restrictor in the hose. So if your looking for it being correct it's not

Thanks 8lug, my car is not a show car so that is not a concern. As long as it fits well and works correctly I'll be pleased.

Because he has them done at NAPA, regardless of what he says in his ad.

Pontiac engineers put the restrictor in to prevent high pressure chatter and the crimped fitting on the outside to hold the restrictor tube in place inside the hose. why would they spend the money if it was not needed.

Thanks,

I appreciate the difference in the hoses, but this will be a pleasure use only car.
If I was using it for daily transportation, I would have a higher level of concern.
