Default 1968 Tempest Date code

All references say its a three digit code. Mine is four.
"09-28"
September 28th?

anybody know?

Is that on the Data plate? Can you provide a picture please?

This is for 1968.





This is also for 68, the build date is 03D - (03 - March) (D - 4th week)

Thanks for the picture, I'm going to assume there is a error in the Build Date on the Data Plate.

Not the first time I've seen a error like that on a Data Plate, here is a break down of the info.

Build Date (09 - 28) "Should be" (09 - 2B) - 09 = 1969 - 2B = February second week

Year, Series, Body Style (68 - 23935) - 68 = Year 2 = Pontiac 3935 = Tempest Safari 4 dr. Sta. Wagon

Trim (217) - 217 = Black

Paint (V-V) - V = Nightshade Green Top - V = Nightshade Green Bottom

I think its Sept 28. Different format for the Pontiac plant for early production vehicles

Do you have the Billing History Card or the build sheet for that car?
Also was the engine YT code?

i don't have a build sheet. Engine is a 2bbl 350 with #17 heads
