1968 Tempest Date code
All references say its a three digit code. Mine is four.
"09-28" September 28th? anybody know? |

Thanks for the picture, I'm going to assume there is a error in the Build Date on the Data Plate.
Not the first time I've seen a error like that on a Data Plate, here is a break down of the info. Build Date (09 - 28) "Should be" (09 - 2B) - 09 = 1969 - 2B = February second week Year, Series, Body Style (68 - 23935) - 68 = Year 2 = Pontiac 3935 = Tempest Safari 4 dr. Sta. Wagon Trim (217) - 217 = Black Paint (V-V) - V = Nightshade Green Top - V = Nightshade Green Bottom Frank

I think its Sept 28. Different format for the Pontiac plant for early production vehicles
