Default 71-74 GTO Grand Prix Custom Sport Steering Wheel

This wheel looks like an optional wood wheel except for the grip is FOAM. This was an option for the 1971-74 GTO's, 1973-74 Ventura, 1971-72 GP's. This wheel changed slightly in 1974 (smooth spokes) for the 73-77 GP's but you can still use it.

Same as the 73-75 Grand Am wheel? I'll have to check against my NOS one to compare.

That is a nice looking wheel. It looks like the one that came in my 73 GTO when I bought it. I should have a small center like the 1st gen. Birds had but with the Pontiac arrow head in the center instead of the winged bird. A small center about 3 inches around. I really liked that wheel , but wanted the fat formula wheel I still have today. Do you know how big that wheel is. 16", 17" , 18" wheel ????

That is correct. I'm not sure if Eric was suggesting it as a nice replacement or he just misunderstood the info given to him for this release.

If you need to borrow mine to copy let me know. Not sure if it would be a big seller, but almost everyone has deteriorating foam.

For whatever reason, those 73-74 wheels held up much better than the 71-72 wheels. The reason we did the 71-72 is because we already had tooling from the 69-70 wood wheel that we could use. We couldn't justify making new tooling for the 73-74 wheel with such limited sales.

We had to retool the 69-70 Wood wheel. It's in process and should be available by Spring again.

Sorry, no. We're still testing samples and improving. Hopefully later this Summer.
