Haven't seen any politics yet. If (when?) it gets moved to the Clubhouse I could give you two examples of him being an equal opportunity offender. The guy was a douche with a soapbox, and his sister made him look like a lightweight. I fully expected to see some animosity.

I watched the movie as a kid way before ever knowing their Fd up thinking. Look into nearly anybody's past and you will find they were up to no good. Even in Mayberry things were right. Like I said settle down kids and relax.

My dad served in the Navy and he had a lot to say about her. I wouldn't piss on her if she was on fire. Yes, the wrong one for sure died.

In the Beatles Anthology book, John and George both mention the time they met fonda. They were at a Hollywood party and fonda was not yet "easy rider"; he was just a fonda.
They said everyone was on acid and fonda kept bothering them. they tried to hide from him, he followed them.
George said "He just wasn't cool".
They went in the swimming pool to escape. Fonda kept sneaking over and would say "I know how it feels to be dead"
George said that John wrote "She Said, She Said" about that experience but changed it to "She" instead of "He" because they hated him so much and didn't want him to think he'd influenced them to write a song.

I think that's how the story went...

You couldn't pay me enough to say anything good about Jane.

On the other hand the only thing Peter did do that was good was "Easy Rider". I will give him that much.

I never heard about her much, and only heard about the movie Peter was in, never saw that either. Guessing I was in School when they were around, at that age I had other things to think about. I rarely watched TV, barely ever got to go to the movies, and really didn’t care. More interested in my friends at that age, and driving. Going roller skating, competing in horse shows, and had a lot of chores to keep me busy.

RIP Peter Fonda.

I wish someone would delete the political cr@p in the Lobby. Very disrespectful to the deceased.

What is "political". Pointing out that the deceased publicly made vile and hateful comments about a child and his sister committed, what could be considered, treasonous actions in Vietnam at a time 58,000 Americans were dying there, I don't really see either of those as "political".

I have enjoyed watching Fonda in Easy Rider when it was released and a few times since.

While the movie was no masterpiece, Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry was decent, especially for Vic Morrow's performance, and for the driving.

I agree..........

Unless you've ever had folks chasing you with guns and shooting bullets, that only take one to kill you regardless of where it hits you..
Serving our country doing what it asked of you.....Every nth degree of oxygen that you are breathing to stay ahead of the enemy and alive...every thought that is screaming through your brain to stay ahead of the enemy and alive...JUST to keep yourself hopefully unharmed, and your fellow servants beside you....one of those fellow servants has likely given his/her life for you...and you never know it....
The fact that you are in a foreign land, where EVERYONE recognizes you as the enemy, and DOES want to kill you.....This service to our country has traumatized you, STILL, to THIS DAY!!!..................................YOUR THOUGHTS MAY BE DIFFERENT!!!

I forgive you, if your thoughts and reactions are different from mine. You served our country for me, and everyone else, you answered the call, that our country asked of you.
My Dad was in Korea in 1951 and 1952. Because of him I recognize things about our country others do NOT. I was born on Nov 11, 1958. I obviously know the significance of Veteran's Day. I believe it should be celebrated just as Christmas and Thanksgiving are. Every business should be closed, EVERYONE staying home and celebrating THAT day!!!
I have never served our country as so many great citizens have!!! Because of those that have served before me, I never had a draft status, never had a draft card, never had to register for the draft.

If any one word here, offends anyone, I am sorry. My best thoughts for everyone that is a citizen of this land!!!

It's evident that you don't know what a hot topic it is. But now you have the opportunity to read up on it and see why people feel so strongly. Even after 47 years the thought of Jane Fonda sitting on an enemy anti-aircraft gun makes my blood boil. My brother was in Vietnam and she was lending support to the same people that were trying to kill him. She still wears a piece of jewelry made from one of our shot down aircraft. So forgiveness is still a long way off for me.
In 1988 Jane Fonda came to the area to film a movie. The locals were divided. Some were star struck but most didn't want her here. My brother was one of the people arrested protesting. He chained himself to the gate were they were filming so the film crew couldn't enter. She didn't enjoy being protested nearly as much as she enjoyed protesting.
