Does anyone know this ‘74 SD455 TA? It was buccaneer red with red deluxe interior if I remember correctly. Numbers matching 455SD and auto. It had a 10th anniversary hood bird and t-tops. Paint on the roof was gray. It was for sale in San Diego back in the mid 90’s if I remember correctly. I’m curious if anyone here purchased it. It was for sale for 5k. I think guys name was Rick? Oh and I’m pretty sure it was originally a Canadian SD car. I don’t remember if we pulled PHS for it. I don’t think we did.

He also had a 1969 Z-28 black with white stripes, black interior, 4 speed car in his garage. All original and absolutely beautiful car. The cross-ram and headers came in the trunk. The headers were on the car but the cross-ram was still there and not installed.

This bulls#@t NEVER HAPPENED. Cross rams and headers WERE NEVER shipped in the trunks of 69 Z28s. Over-the-counter dealership purchase parts ONLY!

The cross-ram was never a factory option, but headers were for 1967-68, and possibly 1969. It's documented by General Motors for '67-68 but the '69 production info is incomplete.

the emission line that come from the tank go to the driver side of the tank and running thru the right side and cross under radiator to find the canister on the front right corner of the engine compartment.

in 1975 was the first year of Catalytic converter i assume they dont want to run main fuel line close to the converter is to hot and they running the main fuel line thru the driver side (left side) and the return and emission lines to the passenger side and this is thru 1981.

the original part number is also found in 1974 Camaro and 1974-75 Chevy Nova

i found that Firebird and T/A 1976 to 1980 and also Chevy nova 1976 to 1979 with Chevy 305 & 350 with 4 bbl carburator uses SPECTRA FG103B that i think is very similar or the same as 1974 unit

anyone use this FG103B?? thanks

the pics is 1=FG103B 2=25000308 3=74 ORIG SENDING UNIT 4=ORIG TANK AND SENDING UNIT 5=DIAGRAM
Well nobody help me on this but after down the fuel tank i found its nothing wrong with the Fuel Sending Unit only a poor contact of the positive brown wire conected to the unit cleaned well and works perfect, also change the filter inside the tank (GM or Delco discontinued I founded one NOS) only OER made decent one.

but about the parts i found on the market Spectra FG103B its not correct for 74, but in OER K4042 and 25000308 is the same Fuel Sending Unit even OER listed on different numbers and application from the top of the tank thru the pick up tube is the same unit as original but the tubing around the tank can work if is cutting and massage the tubbing its and alternative if you can not rebuild or found the original for 74. hope this info helps.

Cool article on the SD.
There is another 74 SD registered that was sent to GM Lamp Division.
Wonder how many went there?
Been cool to see 2 SD's there.

Great article! Loved the handwritten evaluation from Marion, but surprised at how much oil the engine used in 1500 miles...5 quarts!

Its really to much oil for initial breaking engine but who knows? also some engine builders recomended to use 1 quart of
LUCAS 1001 OIL STABILIZER
and 5 quarts of 15-40w like Valvoline VR1 (need to be mix 2.5 Qts 20-50w & 2.5 Qts 10-30w) because its not available in that weight
anyone have experience with this Lucas Oil Stabilizer i never use any additives in the engine.
