On my '70 GTO, the water temp sender in the front of the manifold was broken off when I bought the car. It is a 3 prong unit, 2 side by side and one on top kinda like a box with no top, the sender PY sent me is supposed to be for a '70 to '72 but only has 2 prongs and they aren't on the same angles as my plug. What to do? Is the 3 pronger still available? If not is there a way to use this 2 pronger with my stock plug so it looks like it's supposed to without hacking the wiring? Thanks.

Does anyone know the GM part number for the sender I need? My uncle has some connections and finds what he needs usually, I will try anyway. I do not want to cut the harness unless I have to. By the way, all the posts talk about 3 prong or 1 prong senders, I have the one from PY which has 2! If I only need one, which one?

A 70 should have 2 senders.A single wire sender for the water temp gauge/light and a 3 wire sender for emissions control(TCS).Occasionally the 3 wire sender is available on eBay.Not sure of the part number.

Brady is correct. The extra single wire sender is exclusive to the auxilliary gauge package.Cars with idiot lights only have the 3 prong sender.

If it turns out you don't win the one on E-bay, I have one on one of my extra intakes. I don't know if it works or not but it's in tackt. You can have it for 5 bucks and a picture of your car.
