Can anyone tell me how to remove the glove box lock in order to paint the outside panel?

you have to have the key I think in order to get the guts out of the lock, you lock it and then there is a little tab you push in on the side and the insides of the lock slip out, then you unscrew the nut from the front. Its kind of hard to explain but hopefully this makes sense top you.

GR-RRR!

If the door is open and you don't have a key, there is a little window in the case of the lock that you can see the tumblers. Take a paper clip and press down on each tumble while pulling on the lock cylinder itself. Once the cylinder is removed you can unscrew the case.
