1969 GTO AC Heater Delete Firewall Plate
Hey, I'm about to pull the engine and get some body work and engine bay cleaning done and my current plate is sort of a custom broke ass piece.
Anything out there worth getting? Any pics on your car? I've seen 3 different designs, a plate with a separate circle, a flat rectangle and a unique one with the upper left area smaller than the main. There are a bunch on ebay but most seemed ok and not really quality. The 3rd option seemed like the best.

For my A-body I wanted to remove the AC and keep the heater. I used a company that at the time made really nice fiberglass firewall covers that sort of copied the stock heater box cover but also was formed up and over the AC holes in the firewall for a nice clean appearance and easy installation without modifying the car in any way so the AC and all the components can easily be reinstalled if one wishes.
https://www.acdelete.com Not exactly what you are looking for but a nice option. I bought from them maybe 10-15 years ago and it was nice quality then. |

I used one of those from the same place on '68. Very pleased with it.

Thanks
Is getting to the AC circle hard with the fender on? With no engine in the bay I'd assume this isn't difficult.

In a case where the car is together and you want to access that area, I find it much easier to just remove the inner fender, leaving the fender in place.
The inner fender drops out without too much fuss. |

I've done the same thing. The engine being out l don't think would help. The problem is getting to all the attachments on the far side of the inner fender. That would be on the far left in my photo.

Got this one from inline tube
They packed it with nothing inside and it busted through the box, it's Mega scratched and dented like hell. I'll just have the body shop make me a panel, nice and cheap. LOL
