Default 69 firebird rocker molding

Does anyone know what installs on the fenders on a 69 bird that the molding attaches to? There are 2 round holes and 1 rectangular hole at the bottom of each fender. I bought new molding and mount kit but nothing is included for the fenders. Need help.

There are two flat steel mounting plates per side that screw to the car and the rocker trim slips over them and screws go up underneath the bottom of the rocker to fasten them on. There is also a square plastic push in screw anchor that fits into a square or rectangular hole in the front fender. Nothing in the round hole. The back of the trim just has a srew that goes through and into a drilled hole in the body.

Default Rectangular hole for trim panel

I had the same trouble locating the correct fasteners. I found that the round holes are not used for anything? The suare hole has a type of well nut that clips into the hole and the panel is then screwed to the nut.I think the Fiher body manual has a picture of this. I found mine at the local Ace hardware store for 50 cents each. They were a little to long but I just used the flat side of the grinding wheel to take about 1/8" off. They work great have had no problems. Hope this helps!

I think that the round holes in the fenders are for the posts on the Sprint emblems that are on the rocker moldings.
