Default '66 Bonneville survivor

I just came across this on OldCar Online. It's too good not to post here.
In fact, I believe it could be the nicest unrestored 4-door hardtop in existance (1966). I can't see a single crack in the steering wheel.

Beautiful interior shot. Super nice non-AC dash pad too, wood inserts, door panels. 66 Bonneville is one fine looking vehicle. Carpet looks original too.

That seller is a middle man. He picks/finds cars in other trade magazines, craigslist, etc. ad reposts them on his website. That car may be long time sold off. I saw my '73 Fury on his website after I purchased it, and I'm near Charlotte, NC. Of course he wanted quite a bit more for it than what I actually got it for off craigslist. You go through him with all your questions, he forwards/contacts the seller, and if you make a purchase, he makes the arrangements and you pay to have the car shipped to you.

So it appears as if he has a ton of cars, but not really. I think you might call it a "virtual reality show room."

Good catch on those items. I only saw the one interior pic posted. Those side mouldings were often dealer installed in those days, hopefully double sided tape only. Not a show stopper but in the category of "what were they thinking". May have saved a few door dings.

I called on this. It is about 45 miles from me. Looks very nice. Repainted original color. Has some door dings and dents. I am going to go and look at it this week.

That is a handsome 4-door! Love the colors and power seat and AC. Great dash pad too. Even the ultra rare fiberglass AC component cover is still on the car! Good luck with the live look. Looks nice in the small pics.

I had a very low mile 66 GP with an amazing interior that looked showroom new. I have been looking for a nice cruiser. Possibly a survivor car that looks nice but won't break the bank and provide worry free driving.

I hope it works out. Hope it is as good as it looks in the pictures!

Default 66 Bonneville

Here are a few interior shots of the 66 GP I had. I sold it because I found something else and did not have enough garage space.

What do you think the 66 Bonneville 4 door is worth? The owner told me he has had it for 3 years and looks to have had some "freshening" before him. It does have a few door dings he said and a slight crease in one of the quarter panels and ding in rear bumper. I see this a lot when older owners try and navigate the tight parking spots we have today or pulling the car into small garages.

Hard to say, but that car is pretty loaded with A/C, Guages, Power windows, reclining passenger seat back, & rear speaker. Does the A/C work? how does it drive?

If the interior is as nice as it looks in the pictures (even the 2 tone steering wheel looks very nice!) everything works, and you want it, I would offer $12,000 and see what happens.

The body style is worth more than a 4-door sedan, and looks much better than the sedan version. But $15,000 is pretty high for a 4-door. But with no interior work needed, and if it drives well it may be a bargain in the long run.

Thanks Jeff. I did some research on how long this car is. I want to make sure it will fit in my garage. Interestingly what I found is the length is the same for the 4 door and 2 door. On the 2 door those quarter panels are long! Basically I need 222" which is going to be a very tight fit.

I was told everything on the car works including A/C and all the power windows. We shall see when I go look at it. Owner is out of town till middle of week. Car seems to have been well cared for and kept in a garage. However 4 doors are not as popular but do offer advantages if you have a lot of passengers.

Will post update once I see car.

Thanks.

Wow that 66 GP had a beautiful interior as well. Speed warning, AC, reclining passenger seat, fantastic. The other advantage of a four door as a buyer is the 40% hit for the extra 2 doors! I have owned a bunch of 66 full size cars and I have to say they are my favorites of the era. Only thing that would have made them better would have been disc brakes, but the 8-lugs were so cool as well. Now that I have a 62 Catalina, I really appreciate the 65-66 full size even more from a driving standpoint. The 62's are so disconnected from the driver and steer, corner and feel so flimsy compared to the 65-66. I do love the styling of the 62 however and the heritage of the SD cars. I hope it looks and drives well and ends up at your house. BTW, the AC on my 66 9 passenger wagon was the coldest and best AC on any car I have ever owned. With my family in the car pulling a 19 FT. Sea Ray at 70 MPH on the hottest summer days, it was so cold in the car you almost couldn't stand it. Never overheated.

Thanks for the insight on 66 big cars. I have had a few including a 62 Catalina convertible with A/C. I should have kept that one! I also had a 67 GP that drove nicely. One big car I wish could have been saved was a 69 Bonneville Brougham 428 HO car that had serious rust issues. I have never had a 4 door big car. This one looks well kept. There was a nice 66 Bonneville convertible on ebay last week but no longer listed.
