Default OldsObsolete

Anyone ever deal with these guys? I’m considering purchasing something from them. I can never tell if a company is still in business these days or if a website is current. I’m looking for a NOS ignition switch cylinder for a new (and expensive) NOS ignition switch that I just bought.

I’m not sure if this is the correct one, but they have others. Also, will a ‘68 cylinder work in my NOS ‘67 ignition switch? There’s a guy that may have one of those locally.

Thanks,

I see that Standard still makes an aftermarket unit that supposedly fits.

Maybe I should try that. I just want to buy from a reliable source. The existing one is really worn out and so is the key. I can pull the key out in the ON or Accessory position.

My local Oreillys started carrying the Standard brand. I sold auto parts from 1985-1998. Standard Ignition was the only brand we ever carried. We had very little trouble out of their stuff, application wise or reliability wise. If you have an Oreillys near you, they will order the part, and you can return it if it's incorrect...

Still looking forward to more 67 pictures!!!

I contacted them about a year ago regarding some NOS motor mounts. They responded, but I never finalized a transaction. They do have some hard to find parts. but prices are high.

I find Standard Ignition parts nowdays to be hit or miss. I put them in the same general category as Dorman. Both brands were known for high quality "back in the day". Most of the stuff is made in China now or re-boxed OE stuff. With a part as old as what you are dealing with, your luck may be better than average and worth a shot.

Olds obsolete is very much in business and their website is current. As you may have observed, they tend to be on the very upper end of the price spectrum. For Olds parts, you may also want to try Fusick Automotive.

OK thanks for that. I don't mind paying more for NOS. I'll try to get in touch with them and will report back. They do have some hard to find stuff on their website.
