Default Help with a 7029268 carburetor

I bought this 7029268 carb, wrapped and in the Delco box as what was described as an NOS carb. The date is 3271 so it’s a service replacement but with some unexpected modifications.

After taking it out for a better look and speaking with another member the carb looks to have been an original ‘69 center section and air horn, but the choke setup is wrong for the year. Is the base plate a later also?

What's the reason for the other modifications? Can the carb be returned to be somewhat correct and is it worth it to do so or better to just run it as it is?

Might be interested to sell it or trade for a 70 automatic carb.

Comments / advice appreciated.

Thanks

Main body doesn't even look correct, restamp maybe? Only piece that looks remotely correct is airhorn

Looks "fabricated" off a pile of leftover parts to fit 1973-74 Pontiac.

Thanks for all the input.

After removing the incorrect vent cover and random bracket and upon further inspection I found the following cast numbers, all of which appear to be correct for Pontiac, in about the 68-69 year. I still see some differences in this to other carbs in photos I have viewed however.

Air horn 7038736 cast
Bowl 7044620 cast
Throttle base 7035733 cast / 0368 stamped

I don’t think this is a restamp but maybe “reworked” by Ac Delco?

I would disagree that it is reworked by Delco,,google olds quadrajet images and you will see pictures of your carb..I honestly don't think you have a Pontiac carb. That being said I'm sure you can make it work but if you're after "correct" it won't do..major difference in how vacuum brake is mounted and position and number of vacuum ports
