Got the body shell loaded up yesterday and took it to the bodyshop. This has been a long time coming, but when its done it will all be worth the wait.

Thank you! Looks like it wont be long and you'll be doing the same Not sure if you read all of the thread or not, but I built a Ram Air IV stroker, very similar to what you're running in your 68, to thrash on in this Judge. Its backed by an M22 supercase and a 70 12 bolt 3.73 posi. I then restored the original drivetrain to save for the cars "value".

Rust free doors and decklid have been test fit, door hinges rebuilt. Got the quarters rough cut off, and the original rusty trunk pan has been removed. Both inner and outer wheelhouses need work.

Thumbs up

Some crafty work going on there...you should put a "Graphic Images Warning" not for the faint of heart. You must really trust the body man. Great pics thanks for sharing.

Thank you Gordon and Hobi, I only wish I had his talents on bodywork and paint. He does a super job, and his shop is a one man operation.

Quarters are all welded out now, old trunk filler panel has been removed and the new installed. This panel is one piece I wish I had gone with used or NOS, required alot of work to fit properly. It did have the welded studs for the reveal moulding on the panel which was nice.

Thank you Greg, I've been watching your resto as well. Looks like you finished your floors, we'll be tackling mine next. I still have all the front end parts to start after the shell gets on the frame. We're gonna have some awesome looking Judges soon

Eventually... LOL.
I'm settling in and not in a rush. I kind of figured once this process got going it was going to become a bigger project than originally anticipated. I have two running GTO's I can play with in the meantime, so I figure when it's done, it's done. Project has gone way over budget (don't they always?) and I will just be patient and wait it out.

Your recent progress has been GREAT. It's hard to see our cars like this. Mine with the floor out and the quarters cut was hard to take but now it's turning the other way like yours is.

Keep the updates coming Jason!

I had a tough decision on replacing the entire floor or installing patches. My floor looked excellent on the underside, but on the interior side it had rust where the braces held moisture. Also replaced the cages and nuts for the body mounts directly under the floor, and rust proofed the inside of the braces. Wanted to keep as much of the original contours of the floor, so patches went in. Here they are complete:

Default Judge shell meets frame again

Loaded up the frame and took it to the bodyshop. Installed the shell on the frame, all the body bolts lined up without issues as they should. I also installed the replated original booster, and the restored original master cylinder and holdback valve. Installed the restored original wiper motor. Went with a new M and H engine harness and plugged into the bulkhead connection.
