So the 2 sizes I use are 6 5/8” (with 2 1/2” of block thread) and 5 5/16” studs (with 2 1/4” of block threads). The 6 5/8” stud comes from Outfront Motorsports ($35 a piece) and are made specially for them from ARP and the other one I get off eBay ($18 a piece), you could also get it from ARP. I cut the threads down on both of the from the block side to get the proper length I need for my KRE HP heads.

5 5/16” studs (2 1/4” of block threads). Manufacturer Part Number: AR5.310-2GB

George.

Do you happen to have a pn# for the 6 5/8 stud?

Checked invoice and no part number. In the ARP2000 1/2” stud they only have 3 sizes, the 6 5/8” stud is the shorter of the 3.

Which will be ready first---the car or the track??

Mine's in pieces, too---waiting on head work. Paul is doing the head repairs and new valve springs will be coming.

All that blower power can be hard on engine parts.

Hey George,

Yes, ARP2000 studs arrived today. Looks like you are making some good progress with yours car. I'm still waiting on pistons. BME rods showed up Tuesday.

I'll call ARP and see what they suggest for the ARP2000 studs. I was 115lb cold with the 8740.

Lots of luck, they told me talk to the place you got the studs from......I’m thinking around 115 or so and maybe the center studs a little more.

Raven- Smokey Yunick said bores can never be too smooth. He would approve of your bore finish. Done with a micro hone?
