Default fluid film, wool wax or nh oil undercoating

ok truck search is over ended up buying another diesel. Want to spray the chassis so it does not look like the old truck. Which one do you like better if you have tried a couple? Should I pay someone, or invest in a system and do a couple of my cars?
We use that nasty salt brine that does not seem to like being on cast iron without making it nasty

I have been using fluid film for about 5 years or so. It works. Have to apply every year. For my truck, I remove the rear lights and spray inside the fenders, inside the rockers, inside the doors, and everything, and I mean everything underneath except the brake rotors. I have a 2016 Dodge in NY, and your hard pressed to find even surface rust on bolt heads on the underside. I use about a gallon on my truck to sart out and I did invest in the spray tools. I use the wand with the hole on the end only. After a few years there is a grime coating of flid film and dirt, I just keep spraying over that and do not wash it off. Even my hitch is rust free and they generally rust in one year. Definately works.

The fluid film and wool wax I "beleive" are the same, the wool wax isnt supose to smell. Fluid film has a smell for a few weeks. I will keep using fluid film because it is what I have used.

A lot of replies in this thread from a while back.
http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...33#post6032333

I used fluid film on my 2011 Silverado when I bought it used out of AZ. I’m in Wisconsin and have the same rusting issues here from salt and humidity.
I bought the kit with the spray nozzles and gun, and used about a gallon on my first application. I did a lot of research and opinions seemed to vary if it should applied every year, or every other. What I did was buy a few spray cans and retreated all the heavily washed out areas- wheel wells, rear end, ect
Next year I’ll do the whole truck over again.
I bought a new construction trailer this summer and treated the wheel wells and underneath. Too expensive to have everything on the road rust away around here. I also sprayed a layer on my car trailers moving parts. The hitch would always be rusted and boogered up. Works a lot smoother now.
The stuff in the spray can is great for other uses too! I use it on my garage door hinges and tracks for example. The garage door lube in the can wasn’t any better than WD40, it would evaporate after a few weeks. The fluid film seems to hold up a lot longer.

Ended up with PFC protection First Class. Kit came with a nice gun and sprayed well. Just drove through a torrential weekend of rain. Ill try and see how it stuck.

Hey Jeff,just saw this post.

I`ve been using fluid film on my `03 Super Duty for years and the frame still looks great.

Another option for next time;Line X in Waterbury has a frame coating that they have been selling.Supposedly it is different than the bed coating.

When I had my bed done, they had a brand new Ram 5500 cab and chassis they just completed, and they did a fantastic job.

They do the older trucks too, they just have to treat the frame first;it takes a little more time.

Fluid Film black is my 1st choice and have had great results.
1 gallon works for a full size truck .

I have watched youtube video comparisons and Fluid film seems to also show best results as compared to NHOU, POR 15 which requires tons of prep and many others.

Good idea. I never thought to drop the spare on my truck, I just worked around it. Maybe next year, as I just touched up my truck a few weeks ago. Next time I think I’ll try to get to it before it’s 20 degrees out! Surprisingly it sprayed fine at that temperature though. Just a little chilly to be working without gloves outside.

I would say it’s wetter than I would have thought after two weeks. But it didn’t wash off either
