Default 68 Gto drive shaft markings

I have a 68 GTO conv. std engine. Automatic. And im looking for help on the drive shaft markings. Any pictures and measurements of where the strips go around the drive shaft and what color they should be for my application would be of help.

According to the service manual, many build sheets I have and original driveshaft I have seen, the colors are one red band and two white bands. If you look closely on you driveshaft you can usually find faint marks where the original stripes were.

Here’s a pic of the faint markings I found on my driveshaft and one after repainted. Three ~1” bands located approximate middle of shaft, from front to rear, red, white, white. This is on a std 400 automatic GTO.

Thanks guys that was exactly what I needed. Is it safe to say that the bands didn't all start or end in the same spot on the drive shaft? That it was a random thing where the first band starts and the last band ends ?

Ive seen the locations of bands were consistent. The grouping and colors changes depending upon year and application.
