The other day I needed the lenses for the turn signal and the high beam indicator that go in the dash to color the bulb. Basically little 2.00 pieces of plastic. I called them told them I needed them but didn't want to have more in shipping than in the parts. I told them I'd take the risk if they'd stick them in an envelope and slap a stamp on it. Everything worked out fine. Sometimes you just gotta ask

you lucked out, I emailed them and asked them NOT to ship UPS as they hit me with a $50 brokerage fee, so I asked them to use USPS or a small box, still got hit with $64 USD to ship snail mail.

ANYTHING shipped involving Canada post is Expensive, to use USPS you MUST use Global priority to start with ($$) If you are in Canada those high costs are on YOUR side of the Border, even sending stuff here, the candapost is way more if you can get the costs split up and see.

Ordered a ten dollar control arm hardware set and shipping from post office was six dollars. Can't complain I don't guess

Several companies markup the freight charge and make a profit on that.

Not this one. You ever consider what it costs to employ a competent Parts puller, packer and shipper person>?

I found shipping can be cheaper buying from them on ebay vs their website. doesn't really make any sense, but i still got the part next day.

I wish I could get a Ames Prime account.

I always check to see if Amazon has the part first before I order from anywhere else.

For many companies, like Eastwood and Probably Ames, The Ebay Route can be a "Loss Leader", NOT lost, BUT JUST ADVERTISING. You have to be a bigtime ebay seller to really make any volume discounts for yourself or others.

With eBay we have to meet a certain criteria as far as shipping cost go. We only have one guy who handles all of the eBay sales so we can meet this criteria. He handles the posting of order, processing the orders and also picks, packages and ships the parts.

X2 for Amazon. Lots of orders no tax plus free shipping. I always check there now. Not always the best price but got to check vs Ames, Summit, Jegs etc. Competition is fierce today.

It may have to do with going to Canada, they must be charging the customs taxes & duties along with the shipping. It shows $9.00 shipping to me in the states.

there is no tax on items under $100...current free trade agreement...unless if was sent with global ship (which it is not) where they jam the import tax on it anyways. I just received a small item from the Michigan area, cost $9.95

There are still sellers who try to avoid Ebay fees by jacking up the shipping costs. Ebay wised up long ago and charges ten percent on shipping as well, not to mention Paypal's fees. Unfortunately because of that, shipping fees tend to be higher than they should anyway as sellers try to recoup some of the extra cost. Still that is too high.
