Default 1980 trans am turbo pace car

Was looking at my repo window sticker from PHS

Guards, door edge 14.00 option

Are these polished aluminum or white like the car ?????

Classic industries has an exact replacement of polished aluminum

RK Motors has a 270 mile 80 pace car with chrome looking

I am looking to go factory correct

As Always Thanks In Advance

they are bare metal, but of all the original ones ive seen on cars i think the factory ones are stainless steel like the other "chrome" decor trim pieces on the tops of doors, fenders & rear of hood. maybe the repros are alum?

Highly doubtful Classic have the correct door edge guard. If their ad says suits Camaro/Firebird, shop somewhere else. The door edges are not the same, the Camaro edge guard is far shorter.
NOS GM 71-81 Firebird guards #995692 /set
NOS GM Camaro guards #993964 /set.

First time I heard you could even order them on a pace car. I could see dealer added, but I didn't realize they could end up on a factory window sticker. Interesting topic for sure! Always learning something new! Were they pressed on the edge, or did they have tabs on them the extended to the jamb & held with screws?

Tap on. Only 1970 version was screw on.

as mentioned by Trevor, only the early ones are screw on, the screw on pieces were replaced with press on units.

These are the correct ones:

(what appears to be peeing chrome is actually black paint)

Never returned to read replies, probably busy making Camaro door guards fit.
