Default 1969 Firebird - Radiator Mounting Photos?

Looking at replacing my original 1969 Firebird 400 radiator with a Cold Case. The hardware I used 30+ years ago are just nuts/bolts as the originals were long gone. Figure I'd use the original hardware, just because.

I'm ordering the 'FR195J' mounting kit (rubber well-nuts and bolts/screws) from Ames, but I don't know how it assembles.

Does anybody have a clear picture of how it goes together? Pictures of the car/radiator or PDF Assembly manual.

Thanks!

That did help. I have the Assembly Manual in PDF, but I could find it until you posted the photo. It isn't in the Radiator section (13), but the next section (14).

Default Cold case

Installed a cold case this winter and used that same mounting kit.
It worked very well. Prevents radiator damage by allowing expansion.
Temps are great so far!!! Gerry

Default No

No. That item would not fit with cold case.

Good to know. I e-mailed Ames this afternoon about it, but haven't had a reply. Saves me $20.

Thanks again!

Do you use the stock fan shroud and if so, does it fit w/o any issues?

Default Shroud

Yes used my original shroud. Radiator has tabs welded to lower area
To secure bottom edge of shroud. Also swapped back to original 5 blade power flex fan.
Running her today she never broke 172!!!!
Gerry.

Good to know. Been using a coat hanger for the past 30 years...lol. My current radiator didn't have any tabs, thus the coat hanger.

You will like the cold case easy to install fixed my hot running firebird. The lower part of the rad had two bendable tabs to secure shroud down low. I also installed one in a 68, cured his hot running car. If you need rubber insulators I found some at home depot in the specialty hardware draws.
