Thanks guys! She's certainly coming along. Next order of business is getting the interior back in.
Question, does the shifter have a bracket that ties into the floor at the front of the shifter? Right now it hovers over the floor, as there's nothing there, so only the rear bracket is holding it up. It deflects when you're going back to park, so sometimes it's hard to get it to fully engage park. It's been so long since I've taken it apart I forget how it was.

Now that I'm looking at it, I think that's how it goes. It seems like an odd design, especially compared to the F-body where it's bolted solid to the floor.

Making progress. Got the rug in, the dash fully assembled with new wood and engine turned pieces. Wetsanded and polished the gauge lenses, and found a nifty chrome like paint pen which I used on the bezel.
Also installed a new booster and master.

Got the seats and door panels in today. Also converted the adjuster end on the T/A mirror to the original GTO style, so it looks original on the drivers door panel. Works like it should too! I thought I was gonna end up using the T/A style mount on the panel.

Got the last few small interior peices installed to finish it off. Put the windshield in, and polished the trim. Took a few pics.

Love it and the only thing that car is missing is my name on the title! Awesome color combo, have you driven it yet?

Of course I like that car also.
Specialy the wheel / tires . I've got a set 15" Ralley's , for the MOT. So They get bolted on for a day , every 2 years. And what I notice every time is how big of a difference it makes in the handling of the car. I'm not sure if it's the tires or the wheels , but with the 17" wheels it's much more responsive and reliable. |
