Do '71 Grand Prix gauges/speedo/dash tach light up blue/green at night? I have a set of rally gauges in my '71 T-37 that light up blue/green but my '71 GTO tach lights up white. I posted this on the electrical forum but I thought someone in this GP forum might confirm that their dash tach lights up blue as well.
Does anyone know if the '71 GP dash tach is a different part number than the '70-'71 GTO tach because of this illumination difference? Thanks in advance, Eric H.

The cluster illumination colors ARE definitely different on the GP vs. the A-body cars. IIRC, the A-body is supposed to be the white color and the GP is the aqua color.
Hope this helps!

Thanks, Lloyd, for confirming the color difference. I actually like the aqua color better than the clear/white, so I want to convert my GTO dash tach to match the GP gauges.
I imagine tachs are rarer in GPs since most GPs were automatics by '71. Anybody out there have a '71 Grand Prix with a factory-installed dash tach? Maybe an SJ or SSJ, or a 1-of-116 4-speed car? Eric H.

GP's used blueish-green "filters" surrounding the light bulb. They are unique to the 69-72 Grand Prix. Factory in-dash tachs on the GP's are fairly rare and are most likely found on, but not limited to, the manual transmission cars. My 71 SSJ didn't come with one, nor did my brother's 72 SSJ...just clocks in that pod.

autometer used to supply a cover for the bulb that was pretty close to the g/p color.
