DOHC Pontiac?
While searching for DOHC Pontiacs on the web, I read about PrimaTech developing a DOHC top end for the OHC-6 engine. Apparently the company is no more? They had photos of the in-progress head- did they ever get one running? I wonder where the head is that they created?

Anybody else on this planet campaign a M/T hemi Pontiac for eleven seasons? ... or has built a record breaking DOHC hemi four cylinder Pontiac? ... or has driven a couple laps of Nuerburgring with Tri-Power Pontiac power?(back in 1967) |

They did get it running, basicly it was 2 of the V-6 LQ1 heads (remember the 3.4 Duel Twin Cams) Machined and welded together. I haven't spoke with the US side of the former company in a few years.
I do not know if they Dynoed it or not.

I read about that in one of the Pontiac mags years ago...I always wondered what happened with that project...still hanging on to a 1 barrel 66 wondering what I'll ever do with it...thought that head would've made for an interesting project

It never was finished. The V6 heads are welded together but the water passages and some other machine work needs to be completed as well as a full custom intake and exhaust manifolds. I held the head in my hands last May, it's a neat piece but still has some serious machine work and custom tooth count lower pulley work to do before it's usable.
I found this picture on the internet and it's pretty much exactly how it sits today.

The DOHC? A bit of both so to speak. He'd like to build a land speed car for Bonneville and run this head for the extra air flow. But as life gets its looking like a retirement project and he's several years away from retiring.

Well I have the short block it was supposed to go on, and told him if I haven't used by by the time he gets around to the project I'll deliver it back to him free of charge. I have four or five other blocks to use before I get to "needing" that one, so it's a fairly safe bet he may get it back and finish it up if he gets motivated too.
 Coated pistons and good rods.
