Default 79 Firebird trim tags

I'm working on a project and need some help on trim tag info for '79 TAs.

My question is, how is the trim designated for an Appointment Mix interior displayed?

The only color for the Custom interior seats that is offered in combination with the Appointment Mix Interiors is Oyster (white). The seats are the same pattern, only the appointments (carpet, instrument panel, steering column, and rear package shelf, [seat belts?]) change.

So the trim code would remain 12R for the standard Oxen vinyl seats, or 12N for the Custom Doeskin vinyl seats.

My uncertainty lies in the coding for the appointment items colors (Gray, Black, Blue, Tan, Carmine). Where on the tag is this identification located? Line three? How are these five colors coded?

I would say the 4th line.

CAR - Carmine
BLU - Blue ( I think is the abbreviation)
etc.

Actually for what you are asking I think, is they would be:
24X Blue
16X Grey
19X Black
62X Camel
74X Carmine

I don't think it would show '12N' or whatever but one of the 'X' codes?

The code I wrote is for the secondary colors.

But I'm not that well versed on the later Birds.

Anyone have images of actual trim tags from '79 Birds equipped with the Appointments Mix option? I am primarily seeking Van Nuys tags, but Norwood tags would also be welcomed.

Here's a pic of my silver 79 TA's cowl tag. It has standard interior, with oyster white vinyl seats, door panels and trims, with gray "mix"(carpet, console, dash, kick panels). The tag only says 12R.

The 12R also appears on the build sheet as "Oyster vinyl", with 16X printed right under it saying "Charcoal mix".

Line 4 - GR2 is the 'grey' for the appointments.
(not sure what the '2' is right now though)

BTW, the "L" on the right after the paint codes is for lacquer paint.

Do you have a broadcast sheet as well? The GR2 on line four of your tag seems to indicate a gray appointments option. Perhaps in the Fisher Body world, GR1 stands for green (not available in the
Firebird line this year), BL1 stands for blue, BL2 stands for black? Need more examples to figure this one out.

Yes, I mentioned above that I have the build sheet. The 12R also appears on the build sheet as "Oyster vinyl", with 16X printed right under it saying "Charcoal mix".

It also shows gray (GRY) in the build sheet boxes for the carpet, console, package tray, kicks, steering wheel, and dash of course.
And oyster (OYS) headliner and Black seat belts.
