Default Vinyl top color codes

I need the code Letter for the tan Cordova top for 1972. Anyone have a pic of a trim tag with this color top?

I'd be interested also.

The list I have for the Tan top doesn't show a letter (which is what the cowl tag showed), but has the number '7' which is what would be on the PHS probably.

Ric, the only cordova color listed in what I'd call a tan color was Covert Beige.

Pontiac shared the same paint codes with other divisions, each had their own marketing name for that color. That being said, they also shared the same vinyl top codes.

The 1972 Chevelle vinyl top code was "T" for Light Covert, which was Covert Beige (also code "T") on the 1972 Pontiac LeMans.

Chevrolet vinyl top code "F" is Medium Tan, which I would imagine would be "Tan" on the 1972 Pontiac LeMans.

What does it show?
(mine is buried right now)

Here is the Order Sheet for the 72 Bonne and GP:

It shows the 'Tan' as number 7 also. (which was available on them)

So, it might not have been an option for the Tempest/Lemans?

Covert Beige is what I was thinking. I don't think they offered the A-body style top in Tan, unless it was near the end of the year.

Absolutely, I always recommend it.

When I look up the code for a tan Cordova top for 1972 all I find is 7. That is the Pontiac sales code, not the Fisher code. I am looking to identify the code used on the trim tag.

I'm now thinking that Medium Tan is code F.

However did Pontiac offer this color in 1972? Perhaps a mid-year addition?

From the data sheets on 1972 Production:

I added the stuff in red.

That is what I showed for the top colors, but the order sheet shows different I think.
(no green top in mine)

John, the only thing is the list shows all the Pontiac lines. I still don't think Tan was offered on the A-body line, but I thought Green was.
1 - A. White
2 - B. Black
4 - D. Pewter (I think that letter code is right)
6 - T. Covert Beige
7 - F. Tan

Green, I believe was 8 - G.

I show Green as 3, letter code E in 1972 but not for the A-body.
(in one set of data I have)

In 1970/71 Green was 9 and letter code G I think.
(not sure if for a-body or not)

Seems to be a lot of different data on it.

PS, I have Pewter as H?

Thanks Diego!

The list may have been for Chevelles as I had a '72 back when Chevy was king to me.

I finally located my copy of the 1972 Pontiac Colors & Interiors pocket folder. It states that the only colors offered for Pontiac vinyl tops that year were White, Black, Pewter, Covert, and Tan.

It seems to me that with Green and Blue color interiors, those two colors should also have been offered in a vinyl roof covering, but that does not appear to be the case.

Thank you for everyone's input.
