Default Wheel stud knurl

I converted my 64 to 68-72 style front disc brakes. One of the studs pressed out and I damaged the threads trying to get it back in. The only studs my local parts store can look up in their computer cause they’re a bunch of teenagers is for drum brakes and it’s knurl is too small. The lug stud is 7/16-20 thread but what’s the knurl size?

David,
Why not take measurements and look it up in the buyers guide? Only have to open one box that way if it's in stock.

FWIW you can still do this online, then call the parts store with the part number you need.

BTW Dorman catalog does not have a listing for this application. That means the part store computers won't have a listing.

I didn’t strip the hole in the head by the way I just thought I had. I found it. The kid at Oreillys was looking at a drum brake application and never made an attempt to dig further. The parts pro at NAPA an ancient man by the way walked right to it.

THIS IS IMPORTANT:

IF YOU GET THE WRONG SIZED KNURL ON THE WHEEL STUDS,
YOU HAVE A VERY HIGH CHANCE OF CRACKING YOUR ROTORS
AT THE BOLT HOLES AND THEN GUESS WHAT?
YOU ARE BUYING NEW ROTORS.

I saw a mechanic do that on a 64 GTO one time with replacement new rotors.
Then the mechanic says to the Garage Owner: I just installed the studs car owner
gave me, How was I to know the studs were the wrong ones?
DO SOME INVESTIGATION AND MEASURING BEFORE YOU TRY TO FIX THIS LATEST SITUATION.
So I agree with all of the above comments.
Just take your time and get the right parts.

610-025 Dorman is the part number we came up with. Seems to be right and it comes up in a 70 GTO search

610-025 is the same stud as the 98004.1.....10pk vs single stud

This might help

https://www.dormanproducts.com/gsear...l%20Lug%20Stud

Lists the 610-186 as a rear wheel stud with a .472 knurl

It’s the 610-025 confirmed by the rotor manufacturer. In related news I was able to install the new stud without taking the hub or the dust shield off. I fed it thru the hole in the dust shield till I could pull it thru the rotor with a magnet. I put red loctite on the knurl then held it in place till I got the lug started and then used a breaker bar to pull it thru the rotor so crisis averted
