thats what i thought , but my tach connector will not go into the new connector

does this plug into my tach harness . it seems that the two connectors are the same (male ) anyone have photos

Is that an orange tracer? If so, it's to the shaker on a T/A.

Does that wire have an orange stripe on it or is it a solid color?

I think it solid brown

If it's solid brown it's usually a tach wire. Is it a unitized ignition car or points?

Any one have a photo of how it hooks up. Did some research and the connector at the end of my tach harness must be for a unitized dist . I guess in need the wire with the little hook so can put it on my coil

You must have purchased a unitized harness. At this point, I would most likely change the terminal end unless this is a concourse restoration.
