Rocker Covers, Throttle Cable, Wiper Motor
Hello all,
I'm in the middle of replacing a motor. Now is the time to get some things cleaned up in the engine bay and freshen things up. I'm considering a new set of rocker covers and I've got my eye on a set of fabricated aluminum. The only thing is, when I was looking at the drivers side firewall, things are a little tight there. I'm concerned with interference with the wiper motor and possibly the accelerator throttle cable. Any one with aftermarket valve covers that are taller than factory but still fit in that tight space? Curious how tall a valve cover you're able to use. Thanks!

The wiper motor unit is often an issue when it comes to larger valve covers. I've used New Port Engineering for replacement wiper motors.

I have 3/4 spacers under stock chrome covers and everything still fits ok.

The wiper motor came with a wiper switch. The wiper kit is set up for a two speed wiper. They do offer upgrades like wiper delay. But to answer your question. The wiring for the wipers is a stand alone set up. You have to supply a power source [fused] and a ground. I see no reason why you can't use the Firebirds wiper power source. Which would give you the factory wiper fuse in the fuse box. A nice feature with the switch. I was able to used the original wiper knob.
