Default Master cykinder rebuild

Hi guys,
I'm trying to rebuild an original master cylinder,as opposed to replacing with an aftermarket unit. I have it apart, and have a rebuild kit from NAPA. When I opened the rebuild kit I see they only give you a new rear piston along with the other rebuild parts. Why just the one piston? What if I need both replaced? I figure the seals on the front piston are as old as the rear ones.
Anybody run into this,or rebuild one of these?
Thanks,Drake

Doesn't the kit come with the seal for the front piston?

Sorry, false alarm. You are right. I didn't see the seals for the front piston in the kit. I was thinking for a minute that I was going to have to buy another kit just to do the front 1/2 of the master! Thanks Lpete
BTW,nice signature. I wonder how many people know where that's from.

You're the first to say anything. Guess it's not that popular...

It's my thread,so I guess I can highjack it. I just bought the 14 DVD set of every show they made off of E-bay. I just watched the "spanish inquistion" one with my daughter last weekend. I have not seen the TV shows for over 25 years,so there are so many funny skits I forgot about.

67drake, I need to rebuild mine as well. It seems to be leaking at the fire wall. Was considering buying a new one from the auto parts store. What was the rebuild kit number if you still have it.

Around here, the kit costs more than buying a rebuilt unit with a lifetime warranty.

My rebuild kit is #497 from NAPA.I have manual all drum brakes though. My master is a 1" bore also. So yours might be different.
Lust, yeah,I paid $31.30 for a rebuild kit,but for $35 I could buy a reman unit with a warranty. The only reason I choose to rebuild it is because it is one of those original style masters with the bleeder screws on it.

I had a few of them. I remember one had 3 "sides". One side of the album actually had 2 grooves in it,so you could listen to 2 different versions of one side of the record.

That was the Matching Tie and Handkerchief Set. My brother borrowed that from me and lost it, and I found out that later copies weren't cut that way! I was bummed...

Make sure to inspect the M/C bore for signs of corrosion and rust.
And clean it thoroughly before installing the new parts.

Rebuilt it last night. It seemed to go fine. The only nerve racking part was trying to get the brass inserts out of the brake line ports,so that I could put new ones in. I had to put a little heat to them to get them to pop out. The bore cleaned up fine after I honed it.
Now if it would only warm up around here so I could put a fresh coat of "cast" color paint on it! Snowing here yesterday.
Thanks for the help guys.
