Are the parts from a 66 wagon the same?

I would think the roof rack would be the same 65-70, as well as the rear speaker. The tailgate window mechanism should be the same also, although there may be differences whether or not you have the "dual action" tailgate (opens as a tailgate as well as like a door). I have never messed with the dual action tailgate, so I am not sure about that.

Default wagon items

There is a '67 Cat, 69 Cat and '70 Executive wagon in a junk yard close to me.

I know the '69 has the roof rack. Not sure about the other items. I might be going there in a week or so. I'll look again and let you know.

The 67 Cat wagon in the yard has a complete rack on it, and it's in good shape. The stainless ribs are in really good shape; I don't think any of them were bent. The five supports for the rails were ok, with typical pitting, but certainly useable. The rails were all in good shape. I checked it out the last time we were there.

The other GMs share parts (at least Chevrolet, and at least 67 and 68), although the Chevrolet uses 2 less stainless ribs. The Pontiac adds 2 extra ribs at the very outside. Because of that, the strips that hold the ribs at either end are slightly different because the Pontiac pieces have the extra notches to hold the 2 extra short outside ribs. Not sure about the Buick or an Olds, but they may share parts as well. Also not sure how many years share the same pieces.

Brad, let me know if you end up going to get it, and I'll tell you how it goes together and how to get it off.

Compsur, I noticed you're in SLC. Have you checked B&R Old Car Parts in Ogden? I know he has several 65-70 wagons (Pontiacs and Chevys), but I don't know if any of them have the parts you need. He keeps kind of odd hours sometimes, so you might want to call before you head up there.

I have 2 roof racks now. Not sure if they are what you are looking for or not. I also have the rear speaker that is on the rt rear wheel well of the car. This is simply a grill and a speaker. I'll get pics of the speaker if you are interested.

1 is in rough shape that I just took off and the other is in very nice condition, but how show quality. Neither of them have great side brackets, but I have not seen many that have good brackets either. I have more photos also.

63 GPman and Blubomber, i'll PM you both.

Thanks Importmaster for the tip in Ogden, haven't checked up there as of yet, I'll check him out. Also thanks Alan for the tip that most of the GM parts fit and that Pontiac used 8 strips instead of 6.

I bought a complete spare 68 tailgate because mine is dented, so I basically need the skin, but not the guts. Is there a specific piece that you need or do you need the entire guts including the motor, mechanism, latches, etc?
