Default removing 69 GP console plate

HI all. I need to remove my console plate on my GP to repaint it (old paint has flaked off). Is there anything special I should know or do? How tough is it to remove? My shifter is still in place. Thanks everyone.

You will have to completely remove console to R and R the shift plate.
Pull shifter button and remove knob. Remove two large screws in upper front corners of console that go up into dash, pull the console pocket and remove screws holding back of console to floor brackets, and unplug console wiring harness.
Once console is removed from car, you will find 2 or 3 screws holding the plate to the console. Gently ease out the plate from the console as they fit very tight generally
If I can find some pics of underside I will post them
Steve
