The All Pontiac & GMC Truck day is today in Tucson! If you are anywhere near the area, please stop in and say "hello". Thom and others have put a lot of work into this and it is important to support their efforts. The weather looks wonderful and it will be a good time.

Photos from the ALL PONTIAC & GMC TRUCK DAY 2104 event are now online at the following site: http://www.tucsonmotorama.com/APD14pix/Slideshow.htm

IMPORTANT NOTE: the is a self-advancing slide show. If you have a DSL or slower connection, please allow the entire show to "pre-load" (which could take several minutes for slow connections) and it will begin playing on its own.

Highlights on display that day included:
  • Steve Disch's "Ultimate GTO" (a 2006 GTO outfitted to look like a '64 GTO ragtop)
  • Thom Sherwood's "'xXx' GTO Flame Car" (the actual screen-used 1967 roofless GTO [yes...with 400 Pontiac cubes under the hood1], from Vin Diesel's 2002 secret agent film 'xXx')
  • "The Wedge" (a transaxle Tempest-based creation built by retired GM Engineer John Harlow)
  • The 1938 Yellow Coach "Warren-Bisbee #8" Bus, as restored by the Old Pueblo Trolley Co. (Yes... There is a family connection to GM and Yellow Coach in Pontiac, MI) Too COOL!
There were a total of 76 Pontiacs and GMCs on display, rangling from 1938-2008. The local chapter (Arizona Chapter POCI #29) signed-up a whopping 14 new members! ...Too cool!

There was an awesome 17-vehicle caravan from the Phoenix area, with thanks to members of the Desert Renegades Chapter #65 POCI and the Cactus GTOs of Phoenix. Way to go, guys, and thanks for the support!

Be sure to check the TucsonMotorama.com website for updates to additional happenings of interest to GM owners in Arizona, expecially the two upcoming Pontiac events in Phoenix... The B-O-P Show and the Pontiac Heaven Weekend coming in April, 2015. Check 'em out!
