Default Does anyones front tires rub? 235x60x15

Has any one had a problem with front tires rubbing when taking a corner?

I have a 66 gto

I have 15" cragar ss rins with 4.25 backspacing
Goodyear 235x60x15 tires

I tried to do enough research before I bought the tires. I put them on this winter and have not got the car out on the road yet to test them out.

I am just want to make sure.

Hey fullback - are those Cragers uni-lugs? I'm thinking about a set but i won't run a unilug. I had a set before and couldn't ever get all of the vibration out of them.

I have 235-70-15's on mine, and they do rub once in a while. The 60's will be a smaller diam/circumfrence, so you shouldn't have a problem. I actually took a hammer and pounded the bottom rear corner of the front wheel well molding on the driver side to keep it from hitting. I changed it by about 1/16". I also rub on the hump where the emergency brake cable goes behind the inner fender.

I have Cragar SS unilugs, and I get a vibration at times. I am not sure it is the unilug feature, or just bad manufacturing.

I am not sure what a unilug is?
I put on what they gave me.

What do you mean by vibration? Is it at fast speeds?

Because I did get vibration on my other rims also. I thing my front end need to be aligned. I also need new bushings in the front.

Uni lug are the ones where the lug holes are slots not round and then you use a lug nut with a shank that goes through the rim to the brake drum/rotor. They have to be balanced through the lugs and not through the center of the wheel. I had mine balanced through the lugs and still didn't get rid of all vibration until i got rid of the wheels. I love the way they look but the vibration was driving me nuts.

Great,
I have a set of 4 coming next week and it sounds like a PIA to get them balanced. Anyone else have this problem with unilugs? Are all Cragars unilugs or can you specify the spacing?

I'm not sure if they're all unilug or not. That's what i'm trying to find out. If you watched mine spin, you could actually see the center of the rim where the hole is was not true to the rest of the wheel... it was waaay off.

First post here.

I'm working on a 67. Just put Rallye II 15x7 4" backspacing on with 235/60r15s.

The fronts rub the front lower edge of the wheel well when turning. I was able to tweak the lip of the fender a little so it just barely clears, but I'm probably going to put some caster into the car to roll the wheels back a little.
