Is the track prep better than it used to be when it was Firebird?

It's got new concrete and is nice and flat now. I would say the prep is good if 10 inch tire cars are making 7 second runs.

Steve,

Your signup site appears to be facebook oriented. Something I don't do, never really got into the whole social media thing. If you could post more info here it would be much appreciated. Getting on a website like PY is about the only thing I care to do (or frankly have the time to do) on a computer.

Love to attend and looking forward to it.

No worries. You do not have to be on facebook. This meet up Pontiac group is independent of it. On my home page is a direct link to join up. It is free to members and is paid by myself and money from Pontiac Heaven events.
Only requirement is to use your real name. Do not even have to own a Pontiac, just have interest.
All who run in this series must be a member because we will be keeping track of points on our group message board.

on facebook, I was against it too for sometime but, now, it is my favorite site behind you tube. so easy to keep in touch, pics, etc. Lots of groups on FB with different interests.
Hope you can attend. If you or anyone has questions/issues- call me, same ph# since the 1980s 480-899-7873 ( not into texting )

Figured it out, thanks Steve.

Both my father and myself are signed up. He'll be moving out here perminantly next spring.

Had a lot of fun last night. Thanks to Steve and all who set this up and made it work.

I should have went out and bought a Powerball ticket last night. I ran my best ET ever, learned some of the finer points of bracket racing, cut my best light ever, and won the trophy bracket thanks to my opponent breaking out. It was a dirty win, but I'll take it!

Oh, and my coup de grace... After my first pass, I noticed a piece of my shiny clip-on windshield trim had flown off - either on the way to the track or on my first pass. When the track shut down I asked the WHP staff if I could take a trip down the track to look for it. Sure enough, at half track, I found it. I thought I had heard something come loose on that first run!

I thought about stopping at the casino before I left.

What? I am surprised you haven't heard. 9 out of 10 Forum members did not know that the Bird IS the word.

The Arizona Pontiac Power Group will be having its 2nd winter drag series event this Friday at Wild Hose pass. This is a club event for members. Membership is free and you do not have to live in Az to join or race.

We are running a money bracket and a trophy bracket.

Currently, Don Phelps ('72 Firebird) is in the lead in the money bracket and Sean Eifert ('67 Firebird) is in the lead in trophy bracket.

See you Friday night

I'm in! I'll bring Gatorade for the group, although we might have to consider a big ol' tank of hot chocolate and/or coffee! Gettin' a little chilly in the desert.

Appears that way. I don't see any Friday night test and tune stuff listed on their event schedule until January. Also got an email telling me the Pontiac races were cancelled this month, likely because of the Wildhorse schedule change.

That's interesting. I agree with most of that, but don't see it as an immediate reality in the current socio-economic climate. Too risky at this juncture. But we can put it on the back burner and table that discussion in Q1.
