1959 Pontiac bellhousing inspection cover std trans.
Looking for a 59 bellhousing inspection cover and not real sure what it looks like. Found one thought to be correct but turned out to be for an automatic. Could someone post a pic and or know of one for sale? Thankyou. Rod

If you mean the topmost one, here it is. If you mean the two pieces that go under the housing, gimmee a few days to figure out which pieces {I also have the pieces for a GMC housing] fit my bell housing.

Here are photos of the 59 bottom cover pan. Easy to spot because of the single louver at the bottom...

The 57 GMC pan is quite a bit different. Same basic design but different enough it'd have to be redrilled a bit and some tabs welded on and drilled.

Thanks Rocky. Could you get us a pic of the cover on the bellhousing. I have a cover but seems to hang over the side edges of the housing a little more than similar chevies.
The 59 oil drain vent is good to see as well. My cover is the same. The GMC is more like chevies with a single 1/4 nch hole. Last edited by War eagle; 11-05-2017 at 09:36 AM. |

Mister Eagle: I'll be happy to click that photo as soon as grand kids leave. In the meantime, the cover fits the bottom of the housing flush...nothing hanging over.

This is the pan bolted up with 2 bolts. Sorry for the sad quality of the photos but I was taking photos from the floor with florescent lighting overhead...tricky to say the least. Hope this answers your questions .
