'70 Ignition cylinder removal
Okay, i give up, i took this apart expecting a bolt holding in the cylinder like the newer columns, but this one has no bolt, i have heard you have to release the lock through a slot, but which one is it?
HELP!

The slot that you are looking for is to the left of the boss with the threaded hole at 1 o'clock in your picture. Use a very thin screwdriver to depress the tab on the lock housing while pulling out on the lock.

Shine a flashlight down in there, you'll see it as it's visible. Look at your new lock set too, the tab is on that.

I can't tell from the picture but, if the old cylinder has never been removed, there could very well be a thin coat of metal over the slot where you need to stick in your screwdriver. If there is, just a little pressure on the screwdriver will break through that thin coat of metal and you will be to the detent on the ignition cylinder that you have to push in (it's spring-loaded) so you can slide out the ignition cylinder assembly.
