Roll call... how many 73-77 A-body enthusiasts are around here? Do you post on other sites as well? I'm always surprised at the lack of activity in this forum at PY.

I've got a 1973 Grand Am that I love. It's up at D-Mac's shop in Escondido getting an engine rebuild due to "something" dying inside. There's very little activity here sadly. The Grand Am Registry isn't much more active due to site problems. The A-body Site is the only one I know of that has regular posters.

I've got a '72 A-body as well, but I'm be like Mike and wanting to sell it to finance other projects that I am more interested in (everyone's got a GTO\Lemans these days).

I too am afflicted with the 73-77 A-body curse.

For the Pontiac, the '73 would be my favorite, but I'm biased as my first car I bought in high school was a '73 Luxury LeMans. I kept that car for nearly 20 years, having just sold it last year to another 73-77 enthusiast.

I also own a Can-Am, that I aquired under unfortunate and unwanted circumstances (but that's life).

Some day I'm going to buy Phil Griffith's '73 Grand-Am, if he ever sells it. This is the black car with black vinyl top and "saddle" or "buckskin" colored interior. It still wears it's original paint and top and interior and it still shows very well. He bought in in 1996 from the original owner, it's a 4-speed car that the original owner installed a SD455 into with functional factory ram-air. I know Scott Weddle has some pics of it, perhaps he can post them?

I'm in the process of restoring a 73 Grand Am. it was an automatic but I just changed it over to a 4 speed (found a donor 4speed parts car). my first car in 1980 was a 73 4speed GA. it might take a year or 2 to restore, but I'm in no rush. Scott, you looking for 4 speed parts? I just put on EBAY clutch pedal/bracket for the 73-77 A body.

I have a 75 GA. 455, black on red with a little over 50k miles. One of my favorites indeed. They look good and drive very nicely.

I have a 74 GA, pretty sure it used to belong to Motornogggin but bought it from a dealer in Wyoming. I love the look of the 1st gen Grand Ams, but they just don't seem to be very popular. Then again, the Chevelle from the same years aren't very popular either.

When in high school, a friend of mine had a '74 Chevelle Laguna SS. It was metallic red (maroon) with a white landau vinyl top and red/white interior (seats were white, carpet and dash were red). I also remember it had swivel bucket seats and the rare factory moonroof option. It wasn't fast with its 350, but with dual exhaust and "hush trush" mufflers (egad, remember those?) it sounded pretty good. I remember the girls we used to take out on dates in it always dug it.

It's a shame the 15x8 Snowflakes weren't available in '77...I think they look great on the Can-Am.
